Jempos are a commonly used element among Matsigenka people to carry any kind of object or materia, crafted from fibers obtained from the inner bark layer of the cetico tree that are twisted into yarns and dyed with natural pigments.
In their designs, patterns are created by adding the colour purple, which they achieve by rubbing the yarns with sanipanga leaves.
