Marta Camagna

Gallery Assistant

Marta grew up in Italy, where her early love of art grew into a deeper curiosity about how images and objects carry power - who gets to represent whom, and why. This question shaped her academic path, earning her a Master's in Art Education from the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts and later a Master's in Arts & Society from Utrecht University, where she sharpened a decolonial and feminist lens on visual culture. Her work bridges creativity, education, and activism, using art as a tool to challenge dominant narratives and open space for dialogue. Drawn to the Amazon as a living example of art as Indigenous resistance, she found her way to Xapiri Ground, where she now works as a gallery assistant, continuing to explore how creative practice can support communities and reimagine collective futures.
