Sunqururuymantapacha | Revelar el Corazón de la Tierra
We are honored to be hosting this photo festival in collaboration with Utopía en Movimiento; in association with Fototeca Andina, Centro Bartolomé de Las Casas supported by the Ministry of Culture Peru, which offers an authentic visual testimony of the history, cultural and daily life of the society of the Andean South of Peru during the first 50 years of the twentieth century.
On public display at our cultural center will be a series of photographs from Fototeca Andina, installation art, and large scale photographic murals that delve into the dissemination and the revaluation of the Quechua language. This two week exhibition also aims to promote a collection of digital content created for the festival Sunqururuymantapacha, hosted on their web platform and broadcasted through their social media channels. This festival is organized by the collective Utopía en Movimiento and Fototeca Andina, Centro Bartolomé de Las Casas.
Fototeca Andina is part of the Centro Bartolomé de Las Casas, dedicated to the safeguarding of more than 30 thousand black and white images, through the authorship of important photographers of the so-called "Cusco School of Photography" during the first half of the twentieth century.
Utopía en Movimiento is a collective dedicated to visual arts production, community cinema, the diffusion and exhibition of national and world cinema. They have more than 7 years of management and cultural processes throughout Peru and Latin America.
